Student Testimonials

“There was a twenty-year gap between my undergraduate degree and the MA I was about to commence. I needed to gain literary skills and knowledge regarding critical writing. My first impressions of Rebecca exceeded my expectations. We discussed what I wanted, what I needed to improve, and how to work in partnership. I sent some of my work, and we went through what was good, which areas of work I needed to improve, and how to structure my essays correctly. The sessions were informal, and it was a joy to learn from Rebecca. Each session provided me with the necessary information, essential skills, new ideas, and plenty of further research. I went away feeling inspired and eager to write. When I completed the degree, I came away with a distinction. Undoubtedly, Rebecca played a big part in achieving such a fantastic grade. This highly recommended service has set me on my writing journey with confidence.”

“As someone who was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia as an adult, none of the writing ever came easy, and being able to get this type of support was fantastic. It doesn’t help that English is my second (actually, third) language, even though I acquired English since I was a 6 year-old. From the first meeting, Rebecca was approachable, knowledgeable, kind and understanding. This was the missing link: Rebecca’s attention to detail, understanding where my development areas were and being a sounding board for my planning and writing enriched my ability to write, plan and think academically.”

“I am lucky to say I had the chance to work with Rebecca Mascull throughout my undergrad and MA degree. Rebecca is a very helpful, supportive, and patient tutor. She has a lot of passion and dedication when it comes to helping students achieve their best potential through their writing. Especially considering that I am an international student with English as my second language, Rebecca has consistently gone the extra mile to clarify various English rules and has shown exceptional patience in reviewing parts that were unclear to me. Rebecca possesses a highly structured approach, and the essay plan and format she introduced to me in my first year, I am pleased to say, I continue to use to this day. Not only does she possess a high attention to detail, but she also always made sure the arguments in my essays were grounded and well-constructed. Rebecca’s high passion for her work is evident from the dedication she demonstrated in every meeting I had with her. At the beginning of every session she always made sure to fully understand the assessment task I had for my essay before starting to go over them. Whenever going over a teacher’s feedback, Rebecca meticulously clarified the missed details in my essay and ensured that I fully comprehended and integrated the feedback. She has always given her best in helping students and I am a very fortunate person to say I had the chance to work with her.”
